Rema achieves a remarkable milestone for African music on the Apple Music Global Year-End Chart 2023, securing the highest position for the African continent with his hit track, “Calm Down.”

Released on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, alongside user replays, the chart ranks the top 100 songs globally based on data collected from November 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023. “Calm Down” not only claimed the top spot for Africa but also earned placements on the end-of-year lists in more than 7 countries, including India (#4), UK (#5), Canada (#6), New Zealand (#9), Sweden (#13), Australia (#21), Norway (#30), USA (#45), and Spain (#72).

Apple Music disclosed that the list represents the highest-charting songs of 2023. Rema’s “Calm Down” remix, featuring Selena Gomez, secured the 12th position, while another African artist, Tems, collaborated with Future on “Wait For U,” earning the 17th spot.
